Keuka College, a private liberal arts-based institution, is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Educational Psychology in an online or hybrid format. As a member of the Division of Educational Studies, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality education to students.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Educational Psychology course, which focuses on the understanding and application of psychological findings and principles related to education. This 3-credit theoretical course examines individual learning and behavioral differences in diverse school populations, as well as the primary theories of learning and their potential influence on learning environments and instructional organization approaches.
Responsibilities
- Teach EDU 355 Educational Psychology, which consists of 3 credit hours of class per week per section, plus office hours, course preparation, and student assessment.
- Work with division faculty as needed to ensure effectiveness within the position.
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, and internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner.
- Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
- Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a K-12 classroom setting.
- Demonstrated experience teaching college-level education courses.
- A graduate-level degree related to education.
- Ability to teach multiple learners.
- Understanding of current educational theories, and familiarity with philosophies.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to be sensitive to and respond to the needs and concerns of all constituents of the College including but not limited to students, faculty, college staff, and the public.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Physical Requirements
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
