**Job Summary**

Alloy Engineering CO is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply your knowledge of product design, product environment, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to best meet customer requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and modify new and existing parts to enhance manufacturability, better meet customer needs, and reduce production time.
  • Review quoting opportunities and support the sales team and customers with product expertise.
  • Review contracts and supporting documents ensuring all information is transferred to relevant groups (engineering, quality, production, etc).
  • Communicate with customers on a technical basis regarding design changes, technical information, and to resolve any issues.
  • Perform failure analysis and offer solutions based on findings.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate options and ensure best solution for customer.
  • Manage projects and provide engineering oversight to production during fabrication; answer questions and provide solutions as needed.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to support sales and provide technical expertise.
  • Establish standards and best practices.
  • See projects through the shop all the way from design to shipping.

**Requirements:**

  • BS in Engineering, or similar education combined with experience, will be required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in Engineering in a steel manufacturing environment; welding knowledge preferred and exposure to ASME or AWS code work a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with technology, especially use of software including Microsoft Office and 3D Modeling software (Solid works preferred).
  • Ability to use drawing, math skills and other tools to analyze complex problems.
  • Multitasking with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
