Key Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician at TEKsystems, you will be responsible for the installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders
  • Ensure quality workmanship and maintain Data Center cleanliness
  • Follow production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools
  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans
  • Familiarity with wiring schemes and testing
  • Ability to pull various types of low voltage cable
  • Understanding and capability in performing field terminations and labeling
  • Ability to work in Data Centers and maintain orderly paperwork
