Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at one of our 6-bed teen residential treatment centers. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide supervision and support to up to 6 adolescents in our care, facilitating groups and activities that promote positive growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support and supervision to clients struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues
  • Establish positive and nurturing relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to our policies and procedures
  • Maintain vigilance and awareness of the treatment environment, monitoring client behavior and activities to ensure safety and well-being
  • Engage in activities with clients, such as outdoor excursions, equine therapy, and recreational activities, to promote socialization and skill-building
  • Create a constructive therapeutic community that promotes positive relationships and behaviors among clients
  • Conduct and facilitate psycho-education groups and recreational activities to promote client engagement and motivation
  • Perform crisis management and interventions as necessary, demonstrating a commitment to client safety and well-being
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all shift activities, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures
  • Oversee and participate in meal times, assisting clients with life skills and promoting healthy habits
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • All schedules require working at least 1 weekend shift
