Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at Children's Receiving Home. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing daily care and supervision to our agency clients, ensuring their safety, emotional nurturing, and healthy development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic experiences through trauma-informed interventions, building rapport with youth through consistent positive interactions.
  • Ensure all youth are given opportunities for engagement, including activities, hobbies, and socialization.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively, utilizing training and expertise to de-escalate conflicts and maintain a safe environment.
  • Supervise and support youth in their daily activities, including mealtime, chores, and recreational activities.
  • Document incidents, progress, and other relevant information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment, adhering to agency standards and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience working with youth.
  • Valid California Driver's License and ability to meet agency fleet rules.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, with the ability to maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with youth, staff, and external partners.
