Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored education plans that cater to the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide Direct Instruction and Support: Offer one-on-one instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and self-contained classrooms.
  • Utilize Effective Teaching Strategies: Employ a range of teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with autism and other behavioral disorders.
  • Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students' abilities and progress through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Educational Staff: Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt Curriculum: Modify curriculum to accommodate the unique learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep up-to-date records of student progress, IEP goals, and services provided.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings: Attend IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-based meetings to ensure student success.
  • Provide Behavior Management Support: Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed to support students with behavioral challenges.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education: Possess a degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • State Certification or Licensure: Hold state certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher in New Jersey.
  • Experience Working with Students with Special Needs: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with special needs.
  • Strong Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Regulations: Possess a strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in Creating and Implementing IEPs and BIPs: Possess the ability to create and implement IEPs and BIPs.
  • Ability to Adapt and Differentiate Instruction: Demonstrate the ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
