Job Summary:

Access: Supports For Living is seeking a skilled Community Habilitation Worker to provide support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities in the Hudson Valley area. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with related populations, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to document services and understand regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skill-building training and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them achieve personal outcomes and growth.
  • Teach daily living skills such as money handling, socialization, cooking, job search, and other skills as identified in the individual's plan.
  • Perform lifting or assisting with hygiene functions for selected individuals.
  • Work with individuals to develop and implement valued outcomes based on their strengths and needs.
  • Meet with assigned individuals several times per week to provide support and training.
  • Travel to assigned locations to provide services.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Document services and report progress and barriers with each client.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other related populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Ability to document services and understand regulations.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking a plus.
