Job DescriptionThe Industrial Automation Engineer at Michael Foods, Inc. maintains and improves electrical and automation subsystems within a food processing facility.
This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software, managing automation documentation, and providing technical support to electrical technicians.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our production equipment runs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot process issues with automation software
- Troubleshoot hardware issues with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and touchscreens
- Use advanced network troubleshooting to diagnose control networking issues
- Work with IT to troubleshoot and maintain automation servers
- Create user manuals and training documentation
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A strong industrial electrical background with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred)
- Experience in mechanical systems and pneumatics is helpful
- An ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, safety rules, and operating instructions
- An ability to write routine reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence
We offer a competitive salary for this position, estimated to be around $80,000 per year.
About the LocationOur Wakefield facility is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods, Inc. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled, and curds.
This role may require shift/weekend work, but we offer a structured work environment with opportunities for collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
