About the Role

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is a leading infrastructure consulting firm seeking a highly skilled Site Development Engineer to join our team in Bloomington, IL. As a Site Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing civil engineering design services to a diverse range of clients throughout central Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to plan, design, and execute complex projects, ensuring conformance with engineering standards and applicable codes.
  • Develop master plans, terrain models, and earthwork analyses, as well as site utility conveyance and permitting, pavement design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater detention and water quality design.
  • Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications for roadway and site development projects.
  • Interface with clients and project stakeholders to provide professional and business development-focused services.
  • Utilize strong organizational and communication skills to design, report writing, field investigations, cost estimating, construction observation, and attendance at client meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering practice.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Certification.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products and computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple competing deadlines.
  • Ability to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments and work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in the field as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Professional Engineer's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in site development and drainage.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and various hydraulic modeling software, such as Storm and Sanitary Analysis or Pond Pack.
