Senior Application Systems Analyst Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
  • Provide analytical and technical support for business applications, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and management.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application support and implementation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Essential Functions:
  • Independently support, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage applications.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements in IT projects, focusing on complex IT landscapes.
  • Test, implement, document, and support core banking solutions, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Represent Information Systems in line of business meetings and projects, showcasing Fiserv Signature capabilities.
  • Interact with Fiserv to solve problems and implement projects, leveraging expertise and resources.
  • Create post-implementation and deployment documentation for operations and internal customers, enhancing knowledge sharing.
  • Manage project plans and associated tasks, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Drive issue resolution through problem-solving, resource identification, and escalation, minimizing downtime.
  • Triage support incidents and escalate high-priority events to relevant groups, ensuring prompt attention.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, design diagrams, and data flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio or equivalent tools.
  • Facilitate sessions with internal customers to assess business needs and work with teams to find solutions, promoting collaboration.
  • Support ETL solutions using SQL Query and other languages/tools, ensuring efficient data processing.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and improve system efficiency, identifying areas for optimization and process enhancements.
  • Map data from one core system to another, supporting conversion-related activities, and ensuring seamless data transfer.
  • Work closely with tier 1 technical support teams and participate in the tier 2/3 support team, ensuring alignment with business expectations.
  • Mentor application support analysts and business partners, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to all aspects of a project, from beginning to end, ensuring comprehensive understanding.
  • Participate in software development life cycle (SDLC) activities, as required, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Learn to coordinate installation of new software, document, and test custom changes, ensuring quality delivery.
  • Help define, record, and execute application disaster recovery plans and procedures, ensuring business continuity.
Safety and Health:
  • Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Perform work tasks in a safe manner, minimizing risks and hazards.
  • Report any injuries to the supervisor, ensuring prompt attention and support.
  • Know what to do in case of an emergency, ensuring preparedness and response.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (Software development track) or Engineering with a programming concentration, and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Associate's Degree with at least 6 years of work experience.
  • High School Diploma with at least 8 years of work experience.
Work Experience:
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience with a financial institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Fiserv Signature core banking software.
  • Less than 2 years of experience, with at least 1 year of demonstrable application production support using Fiserv technology stack or equivalent technologies and toolset.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of business rules for the core banking solution, Fiserv Signature.
  • Knowledge of core banking processes supporting lending, deposits, and investments.
  • Knowledge of relational data model. Experience in writing SQL statements for relational database management systems like SQL and Query SQL.
  • Knowledge of SDCL.
  • Knowledge of Agile development.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to map data from one core system to another, supporting conversion-related activities.
  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings, requirement gathering sessions, and presentations.
