About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CM Mechanic Trainee to join our team at Peabody Energy's Twentymile Mine location. As a CM Mechanic Trainee, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on CM face equipment and outby equipment, including preventative maintenance, permissibility, and major and minor repair work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on CM face equipment and outby equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Perform permissibility tasks to ensure safe equipment operation
  • Repair and maintain equipment to ensure minimal downtime
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, and electricity
  • Basic knowledge of cutting and welding
  • General knowledge of CM mining equipment
  • Committed to complete assigned tasks
  • Self-motivated
  • Attention to detail, good housekeeping
  • Teamwork, cooperation
  • Learning new tasks or assignments
  • Energy, effort, and initiative
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces
  • Ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
  • Ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time
  • Ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders
  • Ability to lift/raise up to 80 lbs. without mechanical assistance
