Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Administration
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Academic Operations and campus leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the nursing faculty and staff, including hiring, retention, and promotion.
    • Ensure compliance with State Board of Nursing requirements and regulations.
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement curriculum for the nursing program, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
    • Work with faculty to assess course outcomes and teaching strategies using data from Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI).
    • Facilitate textbook and media selection process, ensuring that students receive relevant and up-to-date materials.
  • Student Support and Advisement
    • Provide advisement and support to nursing students, resolving problems and concerns as needed.
    • Coordinate activities related to student admission, retention, progression, and graduation.
  • Faculty Development and Mentoring
    • Ensure that faculty receive relevant and meaningful development and mentoring resources to drive program outcomes and growth.
    • Work with faculty to develop and implement strategies for improving student performance and outcomes.
  • Committee Service and Representation
    • Chair monthly meetings of the nursing faculty and general education faculty meetings as needed.
    • Serve as an ex-officio member of all nursing program committees, including the BSN Curriculum Committee, Community Advisory Council, Academic Affairs Committee, and Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP) Committee.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Nursing, doctorate preferred.
    • Doctorate required in states where BON requires a doctorally-prepared program administrator.
  • Experience
    • Five years' combined teaching experience and experience in curriculum development and administration.
    • Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
