Radiation Therapy Specialist

The Radiation Therapist is an ARRT Registered Therapist who administers radiation therapy as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist. This role involves interacting with various individuals, including patients with cancer, physicians, nurses, family members, and coworkers. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation therapy according to oncologist prescriptions
- Interact with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Develop strong relationships with patients and their families
- Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and patient progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiation Therapist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in a Radiation Oncology department preferred but not required
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients and staff daily. The ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations is crucial.
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
