Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Substation Engineer to join our team at Infra-Rec. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing civil and structural components of electrical substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis
    • Develop and review civil and structural designs for substation projects, including foundations, steel structures, and site development.
    • Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and stability of substation components.
    • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate civil/structural designs with electrical systems.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify design implementation and quality.
    • Prepare and review engineering reports, documentation, and specifications.
  • Innovation and Improvement
    • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and project efficiency.
    • Propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation), and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of industry standards and codes such as ASCE, AISC, ACI, and NESC.
  • Skills
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
