Job Title: Cardiology Sonographer II

Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Sonographer II to join our team in Dallas, Texas.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to produce high-quality diagnostic echocardiography images. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of pediatric cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent technical skills in operating ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
  • Perform advanced echo imaging, including echo guidance for interventional procedures, such as ECMO, LVAD, ASD devices, Balloon Septostomy, and PCE taps.
  • Assist with intraoperative TEE.
  • Responsible for performing, archiving, and calculations of all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging by using appropriate machine optimization, probe selection, and patient positioning.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and a segmental approach while imaging to produce diagnostic high-quality studies in normal to complex congenital heart defects.
  • Participate fully in call schedule, including satellite areas.
  • Participate in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research studies.
  • Preceptor for students and fellows.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of job-related experience required.
  • At least 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Research experience preferred.
Education:
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Echocardiography required.
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI (ARDMS is preferred over CCI) required.
  • Certified in one (1) of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
