Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Space Station Science Integrator to join our team at Leidos. This role will be responsible for integrating science and technology research on the ISS, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of scientific and technology implementation efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external clients to maximize use of the ISS, ensuring feasibility of newly identified and proposed science investigations and technology demonstrations.
  • Exercise organizational and technical leadership in all aspects of ISS research integration work, collaborating across teams to ensure safe and successful execution of scientific and technology implementation efforts.
  • Apply science, technology, and integration knowledge to review requests for proposals, statements of work, and modify as needed, utilizing understanding of contract processes and management of the funding of investigations.
  • Integrate across contracting officer, implementation partners/payload developers, and center representatives on financial activities related to investigations within the portfolio.
  • Track, monitor, and report experiment-specific metrics as measures of execution completion, identifying and implementing process improvements to support competing priorities.
  • Serve as an unbiased advocate and technical resource for all science on ISS, consolidating and communicating the research performed on the ISS, from experimental design to results.
  • Interface with the research community in academia, other government agencies, and other NASA centers, supporting agreements and integration processes related to domestic and international collaborations with the goal of maximizing ISS resources.
Requirements
  • Master of Science Degree in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or Engineering field with 5+ years of applicable professional experience.
  • Strong foundation and experience in science research and integration, including collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting accurate, relevant scientific data.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project managers, project leads, customers, and contract colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Customer-focused, quality, and process improvement-oriented individual with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to communicate science/technical concepts across multiple disciplines and various teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with ISS research payloads integration activities and processes.
  • Experience in research operations, including planning and executing laboratory research operations.
