Job Summary

The Marketing and Media Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the company's image and promoting its brand through the creation of engaging marketing and communications materials. This full-time position requires collaboration with various departments to produce a range of materials, including print, electronic, digital, and social media content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a corporate social media strategy to showcase the company's image and brand in various communities, focusing on employee recruitment and retention.
  • Visit worksites to gather marketing materials, including photos, videos, and insights, for use in retention and other initiatives.
  • Design, prepare, and broadcast communications across multiple platforms, including print, electronic, digital, social media, and videos.
  • Coordinate communications needs among internal departments, such as HR, sales, safety, and others, to produce various materials, including brochures, booklets, postcards, mailers, billboards, banners, presentations, and more.
  • Provide input and materials for company events, such as Redbook, Golf Outing, picnic, career fairs, and others, and attend as required.
  • Contribute to the content and materials for the company's internet site.
  • Communicate in a professional, yet unique voice for the organization, aligning with the culture and goals.
  • Ensure the content and format of company websites are updated, effective, and contemporary, including the company internet site, social media sites, and others.
  • Monitor social media data, such as followers, posts, forwards, shares, likes, impressions, feedback, and complaints, and report to company leadership as necessary.
  • Promote social media internally by educating staff on social media technologies and campaigns.
  • Ensure company brand standards are met, along with industry editorial and style guidelines.
  • Travel as required and exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction and occasionally work more than 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of AP style and SEO preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media venues, marketing strategies, and activities.
  • Advanced understanding of web technology and its support for marketing.
  • Strong marketing foundational knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Exceptional business writing skills and the ability to visualize and convey a message into relevant and interesting content.
  • Skills in using and navigating social media networks' native web apps, 3rd party social media tools, and the internet.
  • Demonstrated capabilities with desktop publishing, including editing digital images, designing page layouts, and using electronic publishing software.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related business communications field.
  • Two or more years of social media and/or marketing experience.
  • Samples/portfolio of prior work.
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.
Training and Certification
  • Cyber Training.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant talking and hearing in conversations with customers.
  • Constant talking on the telephone and hearing telephone conversations.
  • Constant ability to see and read PC screens, read normal type size print.
  • Constant normal vision and hearing range.
  • Constant use of fingers/hands to type and file.
  • Constant sitting for sustained periods of time.
  • Constant use/operation of basic office equipment, such as phones, computers, file cabinets, copiers, and others.

  • Occasional sitting in a vehicle for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasional travel and/or driving a personal vehicle to trainings, meetings, events, and others.
