We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriting Officer to join our North America Specialty (NAS) Environmental team. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our Site Pollution Legal Liability products.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for our Site Pollution Legal Liability products, providing technical guidance and support to underwriters and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with environmental brokers, attorneys, and consultants to facilitate the growth and profitability of our products.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to review and negotiate key policy terms and conditions, policy language, and manuscript endorsements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and support to underwriters and associate underwriters on product line and technical knowledge, ensuring a high level of expertise across the team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, plus at least 7 years of relevant pollution production underwriting experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
- At least 3 years of previous people management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of pollution liability underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques, including coverage issues, product lines, marketing, computers, and product competition within the marketplace.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with brokers, clients, colleagues, and other internal departments.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
