Position Overview:
The Solutions Architect Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Systems Planning and Engineering team, directly supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position is essential for ensuring that our systems architecture aligns with industry standards and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Establish Architectural Standards:** Develop and document systems architectural standards focused on efficiency, security, and risk management. These standards are crucial for ensuring that both existing and new systems fulfill requirements, minimize redundancy in tools and solutions, and maximize the value derived from deployed systems.

2. **Lifecycle Management:** Oversee the lifecycle of all systems and infrastructure within the Solutions Architect's purview, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with established standards.

3. **Mentorship and Training:** Provide guidance and training to junior engineers regarding systems and architectures. Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting issues within the Solutions Architect's domain. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational needs.

Additional Duties:
- Assess the current technological environment and the existing architecture.
- Collaborate with vendors and server/network teams to complete the Solutions Design document, transforming it into actionable tasks for various teams.
- Integrate vendor information and legacy system data into the new architecture framework.
- Example tasks include deploying new systems on updated networks, managing virtualization layers, and ensuring proper connectivity between user groups and systems.
- Analyze the complete system architecture from client interfaces to server communication, ensuring efficient data flow and connectivity.
- Create a detailed punch list of tasks required for system deployment and integration.
- Engage with vendors to clarify system requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in architecture, solution architecture, and systems design.
- Strong documentation skills for current and future state environments.

Top Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solutions Architecture.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
- Ability to navigate challenges and identify improvement opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or similar.
- Systems Administration certification (Linux, Windows, Citrix, VMware, etc.).
