Role Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist/Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in delivering fundamental clinical assistance to patients. Responsibilities encompass conducting initial clinical assessments and executing specified urgent care procedures. This role involves performing x-ray examinations while utilizing knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to ensure safe patient movement.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients courteously and efficiently.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes to facilitate smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients regarding wait times and next steps in their care.
  • Address patient concerns and seek assistance in emergency situations.
  • Provide timely updates on lab and x-ray results.
  • Assist with patient registration and discharge as needed.
  • Accurately record patient vital signs, medical history, and relevant information.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers within the scope of certification.
  • Conduct laboratory tasks, including performing CLIA-waived tests and specimen collection.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the management.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to patient visits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms.
  • Follow infection control and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other medical procedures as directed.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  • Act with integrity in all professional interactions.
  • Maintain consistent attendance.

X-Ray Responsibilities:
  • Conduct radiologic imaging procedures according to established standards and protocols.
  • Complete and explain the Patient Screening form to patients.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Deliver images in the required format to the appropriate facility.
  • Perform quality checks on equipment and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Maintain a hygienic environment within the facility.
  • Adhere to quality assurance protocols and uphold patient confidentiality.
  • Fulfill additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology or LMRT program.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Essential Skills:
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligible for registration and hold a current Iowa license.
  • Ability to interact professionally and ethically with clients and team members.
  • Capability to produce high-quality imaging with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to assist Radiologists in interpreting examinations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and sound judgment are essential.
  • Physical capability to lift at least 60 pounds and assist with patient mobility.
  • Demonstrated competency in all relevant areas.
