Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Oriana House. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular checks on clients to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Monitor and document client behavior, including any unusual or concerning incidents
  • Participate in recreational activities with clients to promote socialization and engagement
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients
  • Collaborate with clinical and medical staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation
  • Develop and maintain individual treatment plans in conjunction with clients and clinical staff
  • Intervene in crisis situations to protect clients and staff
  • Effectively communicate emergency situations to colleagues and supervisors
  • Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 40 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a CDCA within three months of working in the facility
  • Maintain required licensure/certification in good standing
  • Willingness to demonstrate a positive attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with regulations governing the disclosure of client information and storage of client records
