Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary care, emergency medicine, and psychiatric services to patients in a correctional facility. This is an ongoing contract position with a 40-hour workweek, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

  • Shift Schedule: 40 hours per week

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • DEA certification
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • BC/BE

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform vital signs and medical history
  2. Perform independent assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and trauma
  3. Refer patients to clinical director for conditions beyond scope of training and experience
  4. Manage chronic health problems
  5. Prescribe medications as directed by policy and procedures
  6. Administer immunizations
  7. Provide counseling and guidance to patients on drug use, diet, weight control, and medication effects
  8. Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, electrocardiograms, audiograms, and perform tympanometry
  9. Perform physical exams

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year (based on national averages and industry standards)
