Position Overview:

The Physician plays a crucial role within the University Medical Center of El Paso, ensuring the effective provision of primary and preventive healthcare services across designated clinics. This role involves comprehensive oversight of medical operations and the assurance of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Navigate public health initiatives with political acumen and skill.
2. Foster consensus and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to address clinic-related challenges. Strong interpersonal and public relations abilities are essential.
3. Exhibit advanced management and leadership capabilities with both clinical and non-clinical personnel, patients, and community partners.
4. Cultivate relationships through professional integrity and interpersonal skills, ensuring trust and respect from all stakeholders.
5. Apply knowledge of clinical analysis and performance improvement to interpret and communicate complex medical information effectively.
6. Demonstrate proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Set and pursue ambitious performance goals.
8. Maintain a dynamic and engaging public presence, with a professional demeanor and attitude.
9. Exhibit a strong drive for personal and professional achievement.
10. Understand border health issues and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
11. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of two years in primary care service delivery and clinic management in underserved regions is preferred. Experience in a primary care medical home setting is advantageous. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Meaningful Use and Managed Care is also preferred.

Licensure:

Possession of an active Texas Medical License is required.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree is required, along with completion of an ACGME/AOA accredited residency in Family Practice. Board certification in Family Practice is also necessary.
