Position Overview:
The Physician plays a pivotal role within the University Medical Center of El Paso, responsible for delivering comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services across designated clinics. This role encompasses the management of medical and health-related operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Navigate public health initiatives with political acumen and skill.
2. Foster consensus and facilitate interdisciplinary solutions to clinic-related challenges, demonstrating strong interpersonal and public relations capabilities.
3. Exhibit robust management and leadership qualities while collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and community organizations.
4. Cultivate professional relationships that promote trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders.
5. Apply knowledge of clinical analysis and performance improvement to interpret and communicate complex medical issues effectively.
6. Communicate proficiently in both written and verbal formats.
7. Set and pursue ambitious performance standards.
8. Bring a dynamic and engaging presence with a strong aptitude for public relations and a professional demeanor.
9. Demonstrate a high level of motivation and self-driven achievement.
10. Possess an understanding of border health issues and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
11. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of two years in primary care service delivery and clinic management, preferably in underserved regions. Experience in a primary care medical home setting is advantageous. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Meaningful Use and Managed Care is preferred.
Licensure:
Must hold an active Texas Medical License.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
Completion of an ACGME/AOA accredited residency in Family Practice is essential.
Board certification in Family Practice is required.
