**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to join our team at Veolia Environnement SA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all operations and maintenance functions, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, maximum productivity, and economic function of a Cogeneration Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operations: Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the plant in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Energy Production: Operate the plant as per the day ahead schedule for energy and steam production per the day ahead award.
- Maintenance Management: Direct Maintenance personnel in the inspection and repair of plant equipment and the performance of their duties in order to maintain safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.
- Work Order Management: Verify work order completion in a timely manner and determine plant maintenance requirements by following preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Inspections and Tours: Conduct periodic inspections/tours of the plant to inspect equipment, provide direction, supervision, and feedback to employees and ensure that all safety rules and plant procedures are followed.
- Troubleshooting: Perform and assist in troubleshooting activities as required.
- Personnel Management: Supervise and oversee Maintenance and Operations personnel skill improvement, training, and safety programs.
- Mentorship: Mentor operations and maintenance personnel and prepares them for additional responsibilities and future advancement.
- Contract Management: Develop and administer contracts and work scopes for external contractors to ensure maximum efficiency in the use of plant and contractor personnel.
- Safety Management: Conduct/Support Regular Safety Meetings (monthly), address safety at all Group Meetings, respond to all safety-related incidents, and maintain the plant Operations Manuals.
Requirements:
- Education: A technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience: Extensive experience in natural gas fired combined cycle power plant operations and maintenance is highly desired.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in time management skills, and strong proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, etc.) and CMMS/Maximo systems are required.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work Environment: Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and project conditions.
