Maintenance Manager

Veolia Environnement SA is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Cogeneration Plant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant's maintenance functions.
Job Summary:The Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance activities, including daily maintenance, corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance. You will be responsible for managing the maintenance staff, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties. You will also be responsible for maintaining plant safety and environmental compliance, as well as ensuring that all maintenance procedures are up to date and followed by the maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the safe and quality maintenance of the plant equipment, buildings, and grounds in accordance with established maintenance procedures.
- Direct the maintenance personnel in the inspection and repair of plant equipment and the performance of their duties in order to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
- Verify work order completion in a timely manner and determine plant maintenance requirements by following preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Conduct periodic inspections/tours of the plant to inspect equipment, provide direction, supervision, and feedback to employees, and ensure that all safety rules and plant procedures are followed.
- Supervise and oversee the maintenance personnel skill improvement, training, and safety programs.
- Mentor the maintenance personnel and prepare them for additional responsibilities and future advancement.
- Assist with the screening and hiring of personnel and develop and administer contracts and work scopes for external contractors.
- Conduct/support regular safety meetings and respond to all safety-related incidents.
- A technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Extensive experience in natural gas fired combined cycle power plant operations and maintenance is highly desired.
- Experience with LOTO process and procedures is required.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls, electricity, rotating equipment, power plant mechanics, and operations is highly desired.
- Experience managing plant outages with multiple contractors is required.
- Experience supervising hourly personnel, strong leadership, and motivational skills are required.
