Job Overview
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is in search of experienced Manufacturing Engineers to enhance our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute production and tooling strategies.
- Engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to unify technical solutions across various disciplines.
- Establish and validate assembly, integration, and testing processes.
- Lead Integration Readiness Reviews as required by the program.
- Formulate and execute manufacturing strategies.
- Provide insights on producibility for project plans and document best practices.
- Analyze design/build concepts to assess producibility.
- Troubleshoot significant technical challenges affecting performance, cost, or timelines.
- Coordinate and apply new engineering principles, theories, and advanced technologies.
- Ensure production readiness for complex problem solutions.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and technologies.
Position Duties:
- Collect and define essential artifacts to evaluate production readiness.
- Oversee production readiness, ensuring all tools, personnel, planning, and engineering are prepared for seamless execution.
- Conduct or supervise producibility analysis in line with departmental standards.
- Support design evaluations, analyses, and simulations to confirm production systems meet program specifications.
- Contribute to new business initiatives by generating cost, schedule, and enterprise standard gated process documentation.
- Enhance organizational performance through engagement in special projects, coaching, and continuous improvement efforts.
This role is expected to be performed entirely onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at the designated location.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or integration within a production setting.
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting producibility analysis and defining production system requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive background in electronics manufacturing for space products or vehicle assembly integration and testing.
- Familiarity with production system parameters such as MRP, MBOM methodologies, PLM, and Configuration Management.
- Knowledge of common satellite product structures and assembly processes.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education and experience typically gained through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and usually 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
