We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our dynamic team at West Oaks Hospital. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and support.

About the Role:

  • This position involves working under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide clerical and patient care activities in the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.
  • Responsibilities include managing behavioral problems, facilitating education and activity groups, and actively participating as a member of the treatment team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Observation: Observe patients to ensure their safety and well-being.
  2. Administer and record patient vital signs: Take and record patients' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  3. Group Sessions: Facilitate group sessions to promote socialization, education, and therapy.
  4. Assisted Daily Living: Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  5. Milieu Management: Manage the hospital environment to ensure a safe and therapeutic setting for patients.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications required; National Certified Psychiatric Technician certification preferred.
  • Experience: One year of customer service experience required; one year of experience in a direct care role preferred.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
