Job Summary

The Civil Superintendent for Tanks is a critical role in overseeing all civil operations related to the tanks discipline. This position requires a highly skilled supervisor with experience managing a multi-disciplinary workforce and subordinate supervisors, as well as in-depth knowledge of LNG tank construction and strong leadership in Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H).

The successful candidate will ensure that construction activities adhere to specifications, timelines, and budgets. Key responsibilities include leading ES&H efforts, inspecting the site for unsafe conditions, coordinating safety training, and advocating for a ZERO Accident Philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ES&H efforts for tank area personnel, including preparing and implementing safety procedures, conducting safety meetings, and participating in safety investigations.
  • Inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices in collaboration with the ES&H Supervisor.
  • Advocate for a ZERO Accident Philosophy, ensuring compliance with company and local/national safety standards within the assigned area.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in heavy industrial concrete installations, with significant supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in engineering and construction methods, particularly in prestressed, heavily reinforced concrete ACI-376 full containment LNG tanks.
  • Familiarity with vertical and horizontal post-tensioning processes; PTI level 1/2 certification preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to work with a diverse, multi-national team and across different languages.
  • Experience training and mentoring less experienced team members.
