Dirt Superintendent Position

The Dirt Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of earthwork operations on a construction site. Their primary role is to ensure that the excavation, grading, and other earth-moving activities are performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with project managers to develop construction plans, schedules, and budgets for civil construction projects.
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review and interpret project designs and specifications, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
- Oversee a team of industrial construction foremen and craft workers, providing clear direction, guidance, and support.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to construction crew members, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and productivity, promoting adherence to company policies and best practices.
- Understand and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Set up hauls to maximize production and minimize costs.
- Monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Implement effective measures to address any deviations, issues, or delays, and communicate them to project stakeholders.
- 5-8 years' experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or similar supervisory role in the industrial construction industry.
- Proven experience in industrial construction and civil projects, preferably in site development industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and industry best practices.
- Deep understanding of safety regulations, including trench safety, environmental practices, and quality control processes in the industrial construction industry.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office, project management software, and other relevant applications.
- Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
