We are seeking a skilled Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Assist RNs in patient care planning, organization, and implementation
- Administer personal care, medications, treatment, and procedures as authorized by hospital policy and LPT license/scope of practice
- Participate in patient care conferences, committee meetings, and staff development programs to contribute to improvement in patient care and skills
- Counsel patients and modify behavior by presenting a positive role model and encouraging socialization with staff and peers
- Formulate patient assessment, nursing intervention, and goals as part of the treatment team
- Perform related work as required or assigned by the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Chief Nursing Officer
- One year experience in an adult and/or adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit
- Experience with involuntary patients, Management of Aggressive Behavior, and seclusion and restraints
- Completion of clinical rotation in Psychiatric Nursing and Pharmacology Class
- Valid California Driver's license, TB clearance, and Fire and Safety Training
- CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Institute Training
