Job Title: Aviation Security Supervisor

Global Elite Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aviation Security Supervisor to join our team at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for managing the Aviation Security Officers in daily operations, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for passengers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise Aviation Security Officers in daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including reporting actual or potential breaches of airport security
  • Maintain all communication protocols in a professional and efficient manner
  • Alarm and emergency response, including communicating with airport community stakeholders and first responders
  • Maintain access control to secured areas within the airport
  • Verify personal identification and access badge of individuals requesting entrance to secured areas
  • Vehicle inspection and access control in designated areas
  • Patrolling airside and landside areas of the airport, including parking lots, aviation department offices, and construction sites
  • Providing crowd control and interacting with the traveling public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Prepare written reports and records of all events, including discrepancies, security incidents, or breaches
Requirements:
  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid State Security License
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License
  • Ability to identify and manipulate power switches on inspection equipment, distinguish all colors displayed on such equipment, and explain what each color signifies
  • Ability to hear and respond to audible alarms
  • Physically capable of performing inspections, good dexterity and hand-eye coordination required, physical ability to handle and manipulate baggage and containers
  • Proficient in the use of radio and telephone communications equipment and procedures
  • Ability to effectively speak, write, and understand the English language
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
Qualification Levels:
  • Supervisor I: At least three years of supervisory experience in civilian law enforcement, the military, or a security firm, or at least six months of experience as a Level III Security Officer and a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Supervisor II: Must qualify as a Supervisor I level and have at least two years of experience working in airport security
Language Skills:

English proficiency required (reading, writing, and speaking)

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, and involves exposure to noise, chemical, and other contaminants, moving mechanical hazards, and extremes of temperature and weather conditions. Must have sufficient visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses; sufficient auditory ability, with or without audio logical devices; able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 120 decibels; capable of being on one's feet for extended periods of time and lifting 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Must exhibit sound judgment and decision-making
  • Must have the ability to follow directions and outlined procedures
  • Must comply with HR, legal, and ethical policies
  • Must include appropriate people in decision-making
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
