CI Engineer

Michael Foods, Inc. is a leading food processing and distribution company with a strong presence in the industry. We are seeking a highly skilled CI Engineer to join our team and contribute to our Lean, Six-Sigma journey.

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the plant's Lean, Six-Sigma journey by defining, designing, and implementing continuous improvement programs. The successful candidate will ensure that these programs are successfully integrated across the organization, including building strong workforce engagement. Additionally, the CI Engineer will define improvement projects aligned with business strategies, analyze improvement programs and results, facilitate and coach employees on continuous improvement initiatives, establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success, and install process excellence support for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certification, and rewards.

1. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
2. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
4. Work directly with manufacturing plants, warehouse DC's, and farms to improve the individual performance of each resource that is not performing to standard.
5. Apply knowledge of industrial engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
6. Champion new initiatives directed toward continuous improvements and cost reduction efforts.
7. Conduct equipment utilization and capacity studies and provide recommendations.
8. Provide leadership in the implementation of CFM/Lean Manufacturing techniques.
9. Apply ergonomic techniques to improve the working conditions in manufacturing. Lead efforts to reduce equipment setup time.
10. Other projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and 3+ years of experience in a food processing environment with a strong mechanical background. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, SAP. Travel requirements are up to 25-30%.
