Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CI Engineer to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. as a Continuous Improvement Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze data and metrics to measure program success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate training and coaching to employees on continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success.
  • Install process excellence support for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certification, and rewards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a food processing environment with a strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations.
  • Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, SAP.
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting, gathering production information, and production scheduling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel required: up to 25-30%.
