Ambulatory Care Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ambulatory Care Assistant to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative and clinical support to medical staff in an outpatient setting.
- Assist with patient care and treatment as directed by attending providers.
- Perform various duties related to patient care, including administering medication, collecting specimens, and documenting test results.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and visitors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support certification required within six months of hire.
- West Virginia state criminal background check and federal background check (if applicable) required for DHHR regulated area.
- Registration or Certification in Medical Assisting.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant or patient care professional.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to biohazards and communicable diseases. The ideal candidate will be able to respond quickly to varying demands from providers and patients.
