Description:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks that provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs. The Project Engineer I works under close supervision but is expected to have some level of independence with required engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and inspection reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
  • Assist with the preparation of substation designs and construction drawings.
  • Perform basic administration of material purchases and construction contracts.
  • Provide direction to designers and CAD operators on the assigned team.
  • Interact with customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in a single area of substation engineering, such as physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, or relay testing.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for basic functions.
  • Interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Zero to two years of applicable experience required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required.
