Position Overview:

The Plumbing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of water and steam systems, ensuring optimal functionality and maintenance at our facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of commercial plumbing systems and be adept at both preventive and corrective maintenance.

This role requires technical proficiency in building infrastructure and serves as the primary resource for the Facilities Team.

The Plumbing Manager will maintain systems and equipment efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance strategies.

Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential.


Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance:

Manage the operation, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems, including piping and valves.

Understand engineering designs and operational functions of the building systems, addressing any deficiencies and responding to emergencies effectively.

Act as a subject matter expert, providing insights for system enhancements and capital projects.

Monitor heating and cooling systems, boilers, pumps, and other plumbing equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently.

Maintain communication with management regarding work orders and project timelines.

Complete all required training and adhere to established standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.


Training:

Assess, train, and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance technicians as needed.

Provide guidance to enhance the skills of the operations staff, including safety practices and troubleshooting techniques.


Safety:

Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Comply with local regulations and complete all necessary safety training.

Identify and address Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) concerns, following proper procedures for hazardous materials.


Administrative Duties:

Update work order statuses promptly and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all tasks.

Collaborate with management to ensure the availability of necessary tools and materials.

Participate in meetings and perform other assigned tasks as required.


Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.

Experience: At least ten years of relevant technical experience in commercial plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.

Skills: Strong customer service abilities, effective communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications.

Ability to work collaboratively with various trades to complete projects successfully.


Certifications:

Valid Plumber's License and certification in Backflow Preventers preferred.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and work at heights.

Comfortable with bending, kneeling, and working in various conditions.

Availability for on-call work and flexibility to perform additional duties as needed.
