Village on the Park Denton, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents and fostering a warm, homelike atmosphere.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. shifts available, with PRN shifts also available. The ideal candidate will be able to work weekends and holidays, and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care to our residents.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining
  • Serving meals in the dining room or residents' apartments and assisting with meal preparation
  • Participating in and initiating leisure activities to encourage socialization and friendships among residents
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing general housekeeping duties
  • Following proper procedures during emergencies and responding promptly to resident requests for assistance
  • Keeping track of residents' locations, reminding them to sign out when leaving, and promptly reporting if a resident cannot be located
  • Promoting teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers
  • Maintaining high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
  • Attending all required in-service training sessions
  • Being an active member of the community's emergency response team
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current CNA certification
  • A High School diploma or GED
  • Current CPR certification
  • 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen
