Job Overview

Position: Service Desk Technician

Salary: $50-$55k annually

Location: Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)

ServiceTec, a prominent provider of managed IT services tailored for the aviation sector, is seeking a dedicated Service Desk Technician. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments where each day presents new challenges.

Employment Status: This is a full-time role requiring onsite shift work. Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Position Responsibilities

The Service Desk Technician will play a crucial role in delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for all inquiries directed to the Service Desk.

  • Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting, aiming to resolve issues during the initial interaction.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a diverse array of desktop hardware and software, including computers, printers, copiers, tablets, and various office equipment.
  • Diagnose and address problems related to operating systems, hardware, and software by evaluating symptoms and identifying underlying causes.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT support requests, prioritizing and updating them through service desk software.
  • Adhere to proper escalation protocols as necessary.
  • Utilize remote management tools for efficient problem resolution and proactive support.
  • Be adaptable to changes in work schedules, including availability for after-hours support when required.
Qualifications
  • A college diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and providing level 1 or 2 support in a large organizational setting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and associated software, including Office 365 and Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware diagnostics and repair techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work independently.
  • Must pass an airport background check and possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • Knowledge of desktop and PC hardware.
  • Experience in installing and configuring printers.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Certifications such as A+, Net+, or Security+ are advantageous.
  • ITIL Foundations training or qualifications are a plus.
  • PCI DSS Compliance certification is preferred.
