About Us:
Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville is seeking a dedicated Triage Nurse (LPN or RN) to become a vital part of our compassionate and skilled team at our Downtown Charlottesville location.

Role Responsibilities:
As a Triage Nurse, you will play an essential role in a collaborative clinical environment, focusing on delivering exceptional care to families.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nursing program.
  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Proficiency in computer skills is highly valued.

General Summary:
This role involves performing triage and nursing duties crucial for assessing, promoting, maintaining, and restoring the health and wellness of pediatric patients.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Requires a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, as well as manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Involves extended periods of sitting and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Fast-paced office environment that is family-oriented and child-friendly, with some exposure to office chemicals.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct phone triage and document each call appropriately.
  • Welcome patients and visitors courteously and guide them to the appropriate areas.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers to secure necessary authorizations for procedures.
  • Gather brief summaries of patient complaints and document them in the EMR system.
  • Provide patient education on various topics, such as breathing treatments and newborn care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and manage patient calls as needed.
  • Perform necessary screenings and complete documentation for patients.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment for both patients and staff.
  • Participate in team meetings to stay updated on protocols and procedures.
  • Support doctors in emergency situations and manage medication samples effectively.
  • Administer immunizations and document them accurately in the EMR.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be adaptable and willing to take on various roles as needed.
  • Complete other assigned duties, including cross-training in different areas.
