Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Snowmaking Supervisor to manage our snowmaking operations. The ideal candidate will lead a team of snowmakers, ensuring efficient snow production while upholding high standards of snow quality. This role demands strong leadership abilities, technical knowledge, and a dedication to safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate all snowmaking operations to guarantee optimal snow coverage and quality throughout the ski area.
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of snowmaking staff, including scheduling, performance assessments, and conflict resolution.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot snowmaking machinery, including snow guns, compressors, and pumps.
  • Monitor meteorological conditions and adjust snowmaking strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as grooming and lift operations, to ensure cohesive snowmaking efforts.
  • Implement and uphold safety protocols and procedures to safeguard staff and guests.
  • Maintain accurate records of snowmaking activities, equipment upkeep, and inventory management.
  • Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for snowmaking operations.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and best practices for sustainable snowmaking.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in snowmaking operations, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong technical expertise in snowmaking equipment and systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours in varying weather conditions, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in utilizing snowmaking software and related technologies.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in demanding conditions.
