Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lift Mechanic to join our team at National Winter Activity Center Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our chair lifts, snowmaking equipment, and other mountain operations machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment, including daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on chair lifts, snowmaking equipment, and other mountain operations machinery.
  • Operate snowmaking equipment as directed by the Operations Plan.
  • Responsible for shoveling and clearing snow from loading and unloading ramps and maintaining proper loading and unloading heights.
  • Be alert for mechanical or electrical problems with lifts and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Operate snowmobiles and other equipment as required.
  • Confidently perform mechanical tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years documented experience repairing lifts and mountain operations equipment.
  • Previous ski area management experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License with no restrictions.
  • Understanding of mechanical operations, diesel engines, hydraulics, and hydrostatic drives.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • 18 years or older.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Standing for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal 8-hour shift.
  • Must be capable of balancing, climbing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stopping, crawling, using equipment controls, and pushing, lifting, or pulling up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively at high elevations and function effectively in extreme cold weather conditions and other inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work graveyard shifts, late-night hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Materials Used
  • Snowmaking guns, air compressors, water pumps running high-pressure air and water through hoses.
  • Snowmobiles.
  • Electrical testing equipment.
  • Lift operation controls.
  • Basic hand tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, shovels, etc.
