We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care to patients in our emergency department, working closely with our attending physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to walk-in patients, including new patient evaluations and ordering of initial laboratory tests.
- Order pertinent diagnostic tests and procedures, and provide scheduled medical care to attending physician's patients unable to see their PCP.
- Provide cross-coverage for other PAs as needed, and communicate with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment.
- Consult with colleagues, supervising physicians, specialists, and other health professionals as appropriate, and participate in Quality/Performance Improvement projects.
- Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant, or current limited permit issued by New York State to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Ability to work a mix of fast track independently and directly paired with an attending in our core ED, with nights and weekends required but distributed among the pool.
