Position Summary
The Field Frac Technician I is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of frac equipment, including API 6A Gate Valves, chokes, casing, and tubing heads and spools. This role necessitates the ability to operate a company vehicle.
Compensation: $23.40 per hour, adjustable based on experience.
Work Schedule: 24/7 on-call availability is required for this position, subject to change based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) at job sites, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with SPM Oil & Gas SHE policies.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of Change as necessary.
- Safely install, remove, repair, and service equipment on frac sites, ensuring all equipment is operational before commencing work.
- Perform repairs on customer property and rental assets, including valves, spools, chokes, actuators, and surface equipment as needed.
- Inspect, rebuild, operate, test, and troubleshoot equipment, recommending adjustments to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Operate equipment and materials in accordance with OEM guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Provide technical guidance and support to frac site supervisors and third-party providers when required.
- Maintain company assets and site-specific equipment in line with company policies.
- Prepare accurate field service and sales orders, along with any other necessary documentation, in an organized and legible manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Be available for 24-hour call to address customer needs.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Perform required tasks in the shop, demonstrating knowledge of shop functions.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Maintain a clean driving record, typically defined as:
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last 12 months.
- No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
- Six months of relevant experience and/or training.
- Must be authorized to operate a company vehicle.
- 40-hour work week with potential for overtime.
- 80 hours of vacation plus additional paid time off.
