Safety is paramount in all roles at Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
An entry-level manufacturing associate at Nucor Rebar Fabrication will bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer specifications.
Specific Duties Include:
- Unloading trailers and organizing materials in storage bins.
- Operating a shearing machine or power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to designated lengths.
- Utilizing a bending machine to shape reinforcing steel bars as specified.
- Operating an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select materials for fabrication or shipping.
- Assembling and loading orders onto trailers for distribution.
- Using a spray gun for the application of epoxy touch-up on reinforcing steel bars.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- This position is safety-sensitive; candidates must pass a drug test, including THC
- Availability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to read and understand basic safety and operational instructions
- Basic math skills for accurate bar measurements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary
- Working conditions may be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold
