Safety is paramount in all roles at Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards consistently.



Key Responsibilities:


An entry-level manufacturing associate at Nucor Rebar Fabrication will bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer specifications.

You will be paired with a mentor who will guide you in the safe operation of all machinery.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Unloading trailers and organizing materials in storage bins.
  • Operating a shearing machine or power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to designated lengths.
  • Utilizing a bending machine to shape reinforcing steel bars as specified.
  • Operating an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select materials for fabrication or shipping.
  • Assembling and loading orders onto trailers for distribution.
  • Using a spray gun for the application of epoxy touch-up on reinforcing steel bars.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • This position is safety-sensitive; candidates must pass a drug test, including THC
  • Availability to work overtime as needed


Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand basic safety and operational instructions
  • Basic math skills for accurate bar measurements


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary
  • Working conditions may be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold
