We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Compliance Engineer to join our Quality team, focusing on maintaining and expanding Halal and Kosher certifications for our Nutrition and Beauty product lines.

In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for both internal teams and external certifying agencies, ensuring adherence to certification requirements.

You'll provide critical insight and guidance on compliance, partnering closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and external suppliers to resolve issues and support certification across various internal plants and external contract manufacturers.

A proactive approach is essential, as you will be expected to anticipate potential certification challenges and advocate for early resolution.

Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, you'll play a pivotal role in driving cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that all teams are aligned and certifications are obtained efficiently.

Your contributions will directly support the growth and success of our global product portfolio by ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This role is a flexible hybrid position with an anticipated on-site presence of 3 days/week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing certification expertise and solutions to a wide range of challenges associated with obtaining and maintaining Halal and Kosher certifications
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external certifying agencies to ensure adherence to certification requirements
  • Partnering with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and external suppliers to resolve issues and support certification
  • Anticipating potential certification challenges and advocating for early resolution
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure all teams are aligned and certifications are obtained efficiently

Required qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3rd party certifications, auditing, and/or Quality Assurance in the CPG, food, or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in supporting audits, problem solving, and/or product development
  • Experience conducting facility audits to assess compliance with religious and safety standards
  • Assess and identify areas where non-compliance could occur and develop corrective actions
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Chemistry, Government Relations, or a related field

Skills to be successful in the role include:

  • Experience in or supporting a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Experience with quality standards
  • Experience in organic, Halal, Kosher NSF, vegan, and/or non-GMO project verified
  • Experience with data analysis, product certification processes/organizations, hosting audits, regulation interpretation, and problem solving
  • Ability to collaborate with product development, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain planning, external suppliers and certifying agencies to effectively and efficiently resolve issues
