Emergency Medical Technician

Job Summary:

The Paramedic is a vital member of the healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and support in emergency situations. As a Paramedic, you will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver high-quality care that promotes optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret patient information to identify their unique care requirements.
  • Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments.
  • Provide routine care such as starting IVs, performing dressing changes, and administering CPR in critical situations.
  • Collaborate with the RN and physician-led team to provide care that meets the current policies, protocols, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 2 years of experience required for ED and CCT, required. 3 years required for Event Medicine, required.
  • Paramedic Certification or Degree, required.
  • National Registry for Critical Care Transport or an educational agreement to obtain National Registry within 18 months of hire, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments, required.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Possesses the ability to prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels.
