Job Title: Chair, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This is a unique opportunity to lead a renowned department and drive its forward-looking strategy to advance its clinical, research, and education missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, overseeing all aspects of its operations and driving its strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to advance the department's clinical, research, and education missions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of the department's goals with the overall mission of MSK.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a talented team of faculty and staff to support the department's goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • MD, MD/PhD in psychiatry; board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and, preferably, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
  • 5 – 7 years of administrative and leadership experience at an academic institution or cancer center, serving as a Chair or Section/Division Chief.
  • Candidate must meet requirements for medical licensure in New York State.
  • An actively practicing physician is preferred.
  • National and international prominence in psychiatry and, ideally, consultation-liaison psychiatry.
Compensation:

Pay Range: $700,000 to $750,000

Physician compensation is based on multiple variables. This range represents annual salary only and does not include supplemental performance-based pay or any one-time payments that eligible candidates may be offered at the time of hire.
