Job Title: Criminal Justice Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Criminal Justice Specialist to join our team at the State of Alaska. As a Criminal Justice Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting audits with criminal justice agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits with criminal justice agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Provide training classes on system functionality, requirements, procedures, and system security issues governing the use of APSIN and other federal criminal justice systems.
  • Work in coordination with other auditors to ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of criminal justice information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Or an associate's degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice, Paralegal Studies, Justice, or a closely related field.
  • Or two years of advanced paraprofessional experience in support of professional law enforcement staff in the development, analysis, and implementation of a law enforcement, public safety or criminal justice program.
  • Or four years of advanced or supervisory paraprofessional or technical experience in support of criminal justice staff, involving data or evidence collection, processing, analysis and reporting.

Working Conditions:

This position is located in East Anchorage in the Department of Public Safety's (DPS) Headquarters' building located at 5700 East Tudor Road.
