Job Summary

Cook Inlet Tribal Council Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reentry Employment Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Workforce Development Supervisor to deliver a broad range of employment services to help CITC participants and job seekers overcome their legal barriers and increase their skills to obtain and maintain employment.

The Reentry Employment Specialist will conduct employment assessments, develop employment plans, and provide information on Labor Market, In-Demand industries, and occupations. They will also identify and coordinate with formal and informal resources to remove barriers, develop skills, and achieve certifications/educational achievements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Alaska's Labor Market Information and In-demand Industries and Occupations, as well as experience working in a correctional facility or with participants with legal barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct employment assessments and develop employment plans
  • Provide information on Labor Market, In-Demand industries, and occupations
  • Identify and coordinate with formal and informal resources to remove barriers, develop skills, and achieve certifications/educational achievements
  • Work in partnership with the Workforce Development Supervisor to develop, implement, and coordinate workforce development programs
  • Interview/screen eligible and interested job seekers to learn about their career interests, work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or two (2) years of work experience in case management, employment counseling, workforce development or year for year in a similar field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Continued employment status will be contingent upon completion of a satisfactory state and federal criminal background check
  • Must have a valid Alaska Driver's license and be insurable under CITC's automotive insurance
